Cat’s Claw Extract
Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa (Willd. ex Roem. & Schult.) DC.), a member of the Dolichandra genus in the Rubiaceae family, is a vine named for the curved, hook-like thorns that resemble a cat’s claws. With more than 2,000 years of recorded use in Peru, cat’s claw has traditionally been consumed daily or used as a folk medicinal herb. Modern research has revealed that its health properties are attributed to unique alkaloid compounds found in the plant, which help support the repair and flexibility of key joint areas.
