Sacha Inchi Oil

Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis L.), also known as mountain peanut or inca nut, is a perennial plant in the Euphorbiaceae family primarily distributed across Peru, Venezuela, Brazil, and the Amazon rainforest at elevations between 200 and 1500 meters in South America. The sacha Inchi fruit is characterized by a star shape, and its dark, oval shaped seeds are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids such as α-Linolenic acid (ALA, an Omega-3 fatty acid) and linoleic acid (LA, an Omega-6 fatty acid).

In addition to essential fatty acids, Sacha Inchi seeds contain bioactive compounds including vitamin E, carotenoids, polyphenols, and phytosterols. These nutrients provide multiple health benefits, leading Sacha Inchi to be referred to as a “super food.”
