Turmeric Extract
Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) is a member of the Zingiberaceae family, with edible rhizomes that serve as the primary source of turmeric extract. In ancient Indian medical literature, turmeric was first used as a pigment or coloring agent, later adopted as a spice and medicinal material. Turmeric has been used by humans for more than 4,000 years.
In today’s society, a fast-paced lifestyle and high-pressure work environment can often lead to mental fatigue. When the brain is under pressure, it produces free radicals. These unstable molecules increase oxidative stress in the body, which can lead to inflammation. Curcumin, a key active compound in turmeric, exhibits strong antioxidant capacity, allowing it to effectively scavenge free radicals, reduce oxidative damage, and act as a natural anti-inflammatory compound.
After supplementation, curcumin undergoes a complex process in the digestive tract before absorption and is rapidly metabolized, resulting in short-lived efficacy. For this reason, conventional turmeric often faces challenges of low absorption and low bioavailability. To address this, some manufacturers apply specialized processing technologies to enhance bioavailability and absorption, allowing sustained release in the body and improved health benefits. For individuals with high cognitive demand, such as those under long working hours, frequent social drinking, academic pressure, and age-related decline, turmeric offers an excellent nutritional choice for daily support.
