Krill Oil

Antarctic krill is a species of planktonic crustacean that obtains nutrients primarily by consuming phytoplankton. As an organism positioned at the bottom of the food chain, krill naturally has a high purity with minimal accumulation of contaminants.

Krill oil is a rich source of EPA, DHA, Omega-3 fatty acids, and astaxanthin. It also contains phospholipids, which enhance the bioavailability and absorption of these nutrients in the human body.

The chemical structure of astaxanthin contains OH and C=O groups, which contribute to its hydrophilicity. This unique structure gives astaxanthin both hydrophilic and lipophilic characteristics, allowing it to span the entire lipid bilayer of the cell membrane. Consequently, it can exert its antioxidant effects on both the interior and exterior of the cell.
