Red Grape Extract (Resveratrol)
The traditional French diet is often characterized by a high intake of saturated fats, cholesterol, wine, and smoking. Despite this, the incidence of cardiovascular diseases in the French population has been observed to be relatively low compared to the global average. This phenomenon has been partly attributed to the high consumption of red wine.
Scientific investigation into this observation revealed that red grapes are rich in flavonoid compounds such as polyphenols, resveratrol, anthocyanins, and tannins. In particular, resveratrol is a naturally-occurring polyphenolic compound with high biological activity, predominantly found in sources like berry skins, grapes, and red wine.
In vitro and in vivo studies have indicated that resveratrol offers multiple health benefits and can help promote metabolism.
