Cistanche Tubulosa is a parasitic plant belonging to the Cistanche genus that grows in the desert region of Southern Xinjiang, earning the celebrated name of “desert ginseng”. Cistanche tubulosa is rich in active compounds such as phenylethanoid Glycosides (PhGs), iridoids, alkaloids, and polysaccharides. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is described to have a sweet taste and warm in nature. Its stamina-strengthening effects are recorded in Shennong’s Classic of Materia Medica, where it is noted as a vitality-enhancing ingredient commonly used in formulations for male functional maintenance.
