Polygonati Rhizoma Extract
Polygonati Rhizoma, also known as sealwort, is a perennial herbal plant belonging to the Liliaceae family. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is described as neutral in nature and sweet in taste, and is regarded as a valuable traditional herb for health maintenance. The renowned Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu once wrote: “To sweep away my white hair the yellow elixir is there; some day to come, just take a look at my face of ice and snow.”1 Polygonati Rhizoma can help promote metabolism and has a nourishing and strengthening effect on the body; it is therefore commonly utilized in the men’s health sector.
Footnote
1 Du Fu’s line “yellow elixir” refers to Polygonati Rhizoma. The “face of ice and snow” metaphorically describes the poet’s transformation into an immortal. Source: Owen S. The Senior Mountain.
