Rehmanniae Radix Extract
Rehmannia glutinosa is a plant species belonging to the Orobanchaceae family, Rehmannia genus. Its name in Chinese, Dihuang (地黃, “yellow earth”), originates from its historical use as a yellow dye in the traditional textile industry.
The tuberous root of the plant is a traditional Chinese medicine, with its first recorded use in the The Divine Farmer’s Materia Medica (Shennong Bencaojing). Based on the processing method, the medicinal material is categorized as Fresh Rehmannia (鮮地黃, xian dihuang), Dried Rehmannia (乾地黃, gan dihuang), or Prepared Rehmannia (熟地黃, shu dihuang).
Prepared Rehmannia root is rich in polysaccharides, glycans, amino acids, and various vitamins. These components are known to help promote metabolism, regulate constitution, and provide nourishment to strengthen the body.
