Chia Seed

Chia seed refers to the seed of the Salvia hispanica, a plant native to Central America. Chia seeds are rich in nutrients such as dietary fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, phytoprotein, multiple minerals, vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin B complex. These substances help replenish the body’s needs and provide the necessary energy for metabolism, earning chia seeds the title of a “super food”. In particular, the rich dietary fiber content allows the seeds to expand after absorbing moisture, helping to increase satiety and supports intestinal motility for smoother bowel movements.

Taiwan Regulatory Information

According to the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration, the use of chia seeds as a food ingredient must comply with the following:

  1. Foods using chia seeds (Salvia hispanica) as an ingredient must be labeled “Individuals allergic to peanuts or other nuts should consume with caution.”
